The Grizzly AVGP is a modern Canadian wheeled armored personnel carrier (KTO for short). The first prototypes of this vehicle were created in the early 1970s, and serial production started in 1976. Approximately 270 vehicles of this type were built in its course. The truck is powered by a single diesel engine Detroit Diesel 6V53T with a power of 279 hp. Its armament consists of two 7.62 and 12.7 mm machine guns. The maximum speed of the vehicle is approx. 100 km / h.

The Grizzly AVGP was developed to replace Bison vehicles in motorized infantry units in the Canadian army. In order to shorten the research and development work, the Mowag Piranha I 6×6 was used. Compared to the original, the new vehicle received a different drive unit and slightly different electronic equipment. The turret with the vehicle’s armament has also been changed. The vehicle provides the crew and troops with protection against small-caliber weapons with a caliber of up to 12.7 mm and against fragments of artillery shells. The vehicle also has thrusters, which significantly improve its ability to overcome water obstacles. The vehicle is capable of carrying up to 6 troops with full equipment.
