Years of hard work battling the grades and elements of California’s notorious mountains left their mark on the Southern Pacific’s trains. This set captures the action in all its gritty glory! SD40T-2 8234 carries not only a layer of soot and grime, but also the scars of a hasty repair on it’s left side where the doors were replaced in a different order. Trailing behind you’ll find a FreightSounds boxcar based on the Espee’s rebuilt fleet of 40′ lumber haulers, a ubiquitous 50′ Railbox and 40′ UTLX tank car, loaded 4-Bay hopper from the Rio Grande and of course a well traveled bay-window caboose.

Each piece of the set is factory weathered to show years of use but not neglect. After all, these trains still have many miles to go before they’re done. Now you can bring all the action and realism of mountain railroading home in one complete set!
