The Southern Pacific Daylight 4-8-4 locomotive is one of railroadings most easily recognized steam locomotives. Lionel has modeled the GS-2 after the very first streamlined steamer ever, number 4410. True to its real life counterpart, this sleek, streamlined steam locomotive would shuttle passengers daily between Los Angeles and San Francisco in the 1940’s. Its brilliant colors make it the center of attention in any setting.
