The Lamborghini Murcielago is an Italian sports car that was first presented to the public in 2001 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its serial production lasted from 2001 to 2010 and led to the creation of about 4,100 cars of this model. Production was concentrated in a factory in the city of Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.

The Murcielago model was developed to replace Lamborghini’s Diablo model, and its main designer was Luc Dockerwolke. Compared to its predecessor, the new model received a significantly changed styling of the body, especially its front part. The interior design of the passenger compartment has also changed. The power unit was still a 12-cylinder engine, but generating – in various variants – more maximum power. Elements made of carbon fibers were also used on a much larger scale. In the course of production, several variants of the basic models were created, such as: LP 640, LP670 Super Volce or LP650 Roadster. The car – depending on the version – is able to accelerate to 342 km / h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h ranges from 3.2 to 3.8 seconds!
